Dr. Jorge del Castillo has been the Associate Head of Emergency Medicine for 23-years. Dr. del Castillo was Associate Residency Program Director in Emergency Medicine for 11-years and has been a major force in a variety of activities both locally and nationally. Dr. del Castillo is the only individual in the history of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare to serve as President of the Professional Staff for 2-years. He was involved with the inception of the electronic medical record system and met with a quorum of influential physicians and President George W. Bush regarding this important transition. He has chaired a variety of committees at Evanston Hospital and is now the Physician Chair of Risk Management with development of education for all physicians on staff regarding risk issues. He continues his leadership with his participation in test development and as a team leader for the National Oral Board Exam for Emergency Medicine.
